New Delhi: Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State (MoS) for Labour & Employment, Govt. of India laid the foundation stone today of a 100-bedded ESI Hospital in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The hospital will be built over 7 acres at an estimated cost of Rs. 101.54 Crores. The hospital will consist of three floors including residential campus, and will be equipped with modern medical facilities like OPD, wards, labs and emergency facilities. This hospital will help in catering to the needs of Kakinada and Yanam, that currently has over 65,000 IPs and over 2 lakh beneficiaries.
Gummanur Jayaram, Minister for Labour & Employment, Training & Factories, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, was the Chief Guest of this function. Vanga Geetha Viswandh, MP from Kakinada, presided over the function.
During the event, MoS Gangwar spoke of various initiatives taken by the government to provide better care and services to the workers of India. He also shared about a reduction in contribution rates under the ESI Scheme and the implementation of Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY).
Gummanur Jayaram thanked the Central Govt. and assured full cooperation of the State Govt. in running the upcoming hospital. The other dignitaries present during the event acknowledged the efforts of the Centre and assured State Government cooperation. The project is expected to be completed in two years. After construction, the hospital will be handed over to Andhra Pradesh State Government to run.
