New Delhi: Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) in collaboration with Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) is organizing the third chapter of ‘Manthan – Impeccable Academia’, an academia meet on Wednesday, 18 December, at the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in New Delhi. Earlier this year, MHRD-MESC organised two Manthan chapters in Hyderabad and Mumbai. In addition to participants present at the event, it also saw more than 15,000 livestreams on Vidyadaan.
The event will focus on the opportunities in the Media and Entertainment Industry while highlighting the possibilities of association between the Media and Entertainment Skills Council and participating Academic Institutions.
Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, will be Chief Guest, and filmmaker and MESC Chairman Subhash Ghai will be the Guest of Honour.
MESC is set to introduce its specialized Creative Warriors Courses which includes B.Sc. courses in animation, graphics, gaming, VFX, filmmaking, performing arts etc.
The universities concerned are empowered to take up these courses through their colleges, while autonomous colleges are readily empowered and other colleges can take up these courses with their university approval.
Speakers such as Subba Rao, Sr. Economic Advisor, HRD Ministry; Amit Behl, Indian Theatre, Television and Film Actor; Manvendra Shukul, CEO of Lakshya Digital Studios; Ashish Kulkarni, Founder of Punnaryug Artvision; Mohit Soni, CEO of MESC; and more are scheduled to be a part of the event.
MESC is a not-for-profit industry led sector skill Council set up through the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to create skilled resources for the media and entertainment industry. The Council is promoted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) with financial support from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Indian film director & producer Subhash Ghai is the Chairman of MESC.
