Punjab Gov Vijayender Badnore visits Air Force Station Halwara, flies in a Sukhoi Su-30

New Delhi: The Governor of Punjab, Vijayender Pal Singh Badnore, visited Air Force Station Halwara on 9 December, accompanied by his wife. They were received by Air Commodore Anjan Bhadra, Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Halwara, and his wife.

During the visit, Governor Badnore had an air experience sortie on a Sukhoi Su-30 MkI aircraft, a twinjet Multirole Jet fighter developed by Russia and upgraded by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL). The jet was piloted by Gp Capt NK Vatsya, Commanding Officer 220 Squadron.

Capabilities of the aircraft were demonstrated to the Governor during the sortie, which he described as exhilarating and thrilling, according to a Press communication from the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Badnore later interacted with the Air Warriors of the Station and impressed upon them the importance of the Air Base in the defence of the nation, and also lauded the efforts of the Station personnel in safeguarding Indian air space.
