New Delhi: Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury, Chief of Naval Staff, Bangladesh Navy accompanied by his spouse, three staff officers, Resident Defence Attache (DA) of Bangladesh, and Indian Defence Attache Dhaka visited Kochi on 10 December. Admiral Chowdhury was received by Rear Admiral RJ Nadkarni, Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command at INS Garuda. Admiral Chowdhury is in India from 7 to 12 December to discuss Milan 2020 and bilateral exercises, as reported previously by Indus Dictum.
Admiral Chowdhury also met with Vice Admiral AK Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command on the same day. Areas for enhancing cooperation between the two navies, especially in the field of training, were discussed during the interaction.
Chowdhury also visited INS Dronacharya, Cochin Shipyard Ltd, Diving School, INS Tarangini (Sail Training Ship) and Indian Naval Air Squadron 550 (Dornier squadron) at INS Garuda, and interacted with Bangladeshi Naval officers and sailors undergoing training at various Indian Naval units.
