Railways to use 1,200 MW solar & wind power by 2022: Piyush Goyal on Green Railways

New Delhi: The the Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, said today in Parliament that Indian Railways has planned to source about 1,000 Mega Watt (MW) Solar Power and about 200 MW of wind power progressively by 2021-22.

201 MW (98 MW solar and 103 MW wind power) has already been set up till 31 Oct 2019.

This information was given by the Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today. Goyal spoke recently about a plan to develop Green Railways.
