'950 ceasefire violations at J&K LoC in last 3 months, Army retaliates; Taken up with Pak': MoS Defence

New Delhi: There have been 950 incidents of Ceasefire Violations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu & Kashmir region during the last three months, ie from August to October 2019. Appropriate retaliation to the ceasefire violations, as required, has been carried out by the Indian Army.

All violations of ceasefire and infiltration are taken up with Pakistan authorities at the appropriate level through the established mechanism of hotlines, flag meetings, Directorate General of Military Operations talks, as well as diplomatic channels between the two countries.

This information was given by Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik in a written reply to Harnath Singh Yadav in Rajya Sabha on 2 December.
