Japanese Defence Minister visits IAF Station Hindan, meets Air Marshal & Air Commodore

New Delhi: Japanese Defence Minister Kono Taro visited the Indian Air Force Base at Hindan in Uttar Pradesh today. Taro is on a two day bilateral visit to India. The Japanese Defence Minister and accompanying delegation were received by Senior Air Staff Officer of Western Air Command Air Marshal D Choudhury, and Air Commodore R Talwar, Air Officer Commanding at Air Force Station Hindan.

During his visit the Minister was given an overview about the Indian Air Force organisational structure and operational capability of the IAF. He was also given a brief about the station, its operational role, and assets available at the base.

Kono also met with Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar at the inaugural meeting of the India-Japan Foreign and Defence Ministerial Dialogue (2+2) in New Delhi today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present.

Kono had earlier met with Rajnath Singh at the ADMM-Plus Summit in November to discuss Indo-Japanese Defence cooperation.
