Passenger Train revenues up 10.4%, Parcel & Goods services down 15.3% in 3 years: Railway Min

New Delhi: The Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal shared in the Rajya Sabha today the revenues from passenger and parcel services for the last three years i.e 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 and current year up to September, 2019.

The table for revenues is reproduced below. It can be seen from the information provided that revenues for Passenger train services increased from Rs 46,280 crores in 2016-17, to Rs 51,066 crores in 2018-19. This is a net increase of 10.43% from 2016-17 revenues.

During the same period, revenues from Parcel & Goods Train services dipped from Rs 1,911 crores to Rs 1,619 crores. This is a net drop of 15.3% from 2016-17 revenues.


Below is the table of revenues from passenger and parcel services for the last three years i.e 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 and current year up to September, 2019.
