Tirupati Airport to get Ceremonial Lounge, Cabinet allots 1,800 sq mts land for Rs 1


New Delhi: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the allotment of 1,800 sq mt of land belonging to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to the Andhra Pradesh Education and Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation (APEWIDC) for the construction of a Ceremonial Lounge at Tirupati Airport.

The land will be handed over to APEWIDC for a period of 15 years at a nominal rate of license fee of Re. 1 per annum,

Tirupati is the abode of Hindu God Venkateswara. The Venkateswara Temple is a landmark Vaishnavite temple situated in the hill town of Tirumala at Tirupati in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is frequently visited by VIPs & VVIPs.

Construction of a Ceremonial Lounge will offer better amenities to visitors, said a Cabinet Press release. The Ceremonial Lounge will be maintained by APEWIDC.
