NEW DELHI: Event organising startup and speaker agency SpeakIn announced that it’s latest round of funding has come from Homage Ventures, a partnership firm backed by OYO’s South Asia CEO Aditya Ghosh. Homage Ventures has interests in other consumer brands such as Slurrpfarm and Blue Tokai.
SpeakIn hosts a network of subject matter experts and speakers. The company says they have over 15,000 names on the roster. Talking about his association with SpeakIn, Ghosh comments, “How to sieve through the sponsored, unverified and ever-expanding sea of information? This is where SpeakIn can create a mark by being a trusted partner for any organisation or leader wanting to hear from the best of experts.”
“Our association with Aditya goes back to the days when SpeakIn was still in its nascent stage,” explains Deepshikha Kumar, Founder and Managing Partner of SpeakIn. She adds, “When we started, India was still a very ‘I-know-so-and-so’ market. With SpeakIn’s curated Expert Network, you get a single, trusted and cost-effective way of connecting with reliable subject-matter experts and thought leaders.”
Having started as a purely offline model in 2016, the company has built an open-search platform since then and expanded its operations to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Singapore with Delhi as the base. The company says it is expecting a 15x jump in revenues this year riding on its proprietary tech-platform, and its expansion into Asian markets like Singapore and Hong Kong. The past quarter saw the company expand its network to 12 countries in Asia, including Israel, Turkey, and Indonesia.
